I have the Pt100 model PL5300 connected to the PID Controller model SYL-2352P. Both pieces of equipment are new. The Sn parameter is set to 21. The SV is set to 6 F.
The Pt100 is 12" long and is sitting in a pot of water 10 inches deep. The tip is not touching the side of the pot.
The temperature of the water is 64.5 F based on a separate certified thermometer.

The issue I am having is the PV is widely changing from from 57F to 68F. The water temperature is constant at 64.5F.

Do you have any suggestions as to why this is happening?
And how can I solve this issue?

First of all, please confirm all the connections are good, and your pot is properly grounded.

If not help, you can try to change the digital filter to 5 or 6 in the settings.

If this issue is not caused by the bad connection, it could be caused by the EMI noise. Do you have any inductive load in your circuit, like pump, contactor? If possible, can you try to use a different power supply for the controller? EMI noise can be taken care by the digital filter. Also, please keep the RTD sensor cables away from the power line.
