EEEE is the input error. It means something is wrong with the sensor or the sensor connection. Please check the sensor connection.

You can use a copper wire to short the terminals 6 and 7 of the gauge. If the gauge shows the ambient temperature, the gauge is fine.

You need to use the extension wire for K type thermocouple. If you use the regular wire, the measurement may not be accurate.
