Hi, I have a Rancilio Silvia w/PID I bought about 3.5 years ago from Seattle Coffee Gear. I use it once per day. Yesterday, when I went to actually make the espresso, I discovered that the little button you push on the PID to activate brewing felt dead - i.e., no sense of pressing a working button and of course no espresso. Any thoughts re how to fix it? I live across the country from SCG and don't want to ship it back for an expensive repair.

The person on the help chat told me how to bypass the PID and manually brew the coffee but it didn't really work well.

Due to the compact design, it will be hard to fix the keypad in the controller. Please contact Auber customer support to order the replacement controller.

Hmm - trying to figure out which one I need. Not clear what the "pre-infusion" function is. I don't care about the steam temp as I never steam milk.

And of course I need to find someone who can switch it out for me. :(

You can read the pre-infusion function on Auber websites, under the listing of KIT-RSPb

It is recommended to replace the exact same controller in your original kit, otherwise you may need to change/modify your internal wiring.
