I built a kiln controller for my old kiln-sitter ks-1018 skutt kiln.  It uses a SYL-2352P controlling a single 50A SSR.  The SYL-2352P was auto tuned at 1000F.  It works incredibly well at temperatures of 850F and above and stays within a degree or two, even with ramps up to 300F/hour.  I have only fired up to 1888 (bisque 05) so far.  Next week I'll try my first glaze firing.

Please note that auto tuning at 1000F means that there will be big temperature swings below 500F.  For me, those swings are 10F below and 25F above the set point.  I don't care about what happens at lower temps very much, but this may matter to you.

Highly recommended.

I'm glad to hear that!

The auto-tune is processed based on current set temperature, and it is recommended to tune it at the most important set temperature in your whole program (in your case, 1000F). So you will have good control result if your set temperature is near this auto-tuned set temperature. But if your set temperature is much lower or much higher than the auto-tuned temperature, you may have some control issues.
